Richard Sonnenmoser grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri. He studied English at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he was an editorial assistant at The Missouri Review. In 2008, he earned his M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have appeared in magazines such as Harvard Review, West Branch, Crab Orchard Review, Big Muddy, Beecher’s Magazine, Permafrost, and Raleigh Review. His poetry chapbook, Science-Magic School, won the 2010 Midnight Sun Poetry Chapbook contest. He’s a contributing editor to The Laurel Review and an associate professor at Northwest Missouri State University. He lives in Maryville, Missouri.
